In BMW they are celebrating, 100 years are not fulfilled every day and that is why we do not stop seeing special editions of all kinds commemorating the 100 years of BMW history. There are many anniversaries to celebrate, such as the 30th Anniversary of the BMW M5 or the 30th Anniversary of the BMW M3, but today from Japan we echo this special edition developed by BMW exclusively for the Japanese market under the name BMW M6 Celebration Edition Competition with nothing less than 600 hp power and many novelties from the catalog of the BMW Motorsport.

The smartest will have already realized that this BMW M6 Celebration Edition Competition is nothing more than the transfer of the improvements of the BMW M5 30 Jahre to the sportier version of the BMW 6 Series. They are indeed right, and that is BMW Japan and BMW Motorsport have used the solutions introduced in the BMW M5 30 Jahre and the BMW Motorsport accessories catalog to take the BMW M6 Competition one step further.

Under the front hood we find the 4.4 V8 Twin-Turbo engine that goes from 560 to 600 hp of maximum power and a maximum torque that goes from 680 to 700 Nm. These improvements make the BMW M6 Celebration Edition Competition slightly faster than the BMW M6, performing 0-100 km / h in 3.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 305 km / h. The transmission is a 7-speed double-clutch type and uses an M sport rear differential.

Both on the outside and inside we find endless parts and appliques belonging to the BMW Motorsport accessories catalog, most of them made of carbon fiber. An example is its interior where the entire console, gear knob, steering wheel, etc. For the exterior there will only be a single Austin Yellow color available, which will be combined with the lightweight 5-twin-spoke M rims in a darkened finish with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires in sizes 265/35 ZR20 and 295/30 ZR20.

One of the anecdotes of this special edition will be that only 13 units will be manufactured, but all of them will be manufactured with a left hand drive, which is still curious considering that we are talking about a car designed for use on Japanese roads .
