Bugatti puts an end to the special series “Les Légendes de Bugatti” with the sixth and last creation in honor of its founder: Ettore Bugatti. Based on the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the last legend created in the Molsheim factory will be the most exclusive and coveted of all that have come out of this dream factory. Paying tribute to Ettore Arco Isidoro Bugatti is priceless, or yes, well only three units will be manufactured at a price of 2.35 million euros each.
In Bugatti they have wanted to throw the rest in this commemorative edition, because in it they have poured all their experience in customization and design to offer an extra point compared to the previous five editions that make up the “Les Légendes de Bugatti” series. To show the good work of Bugatti in this new stage, the inspiration for this latest special edition has been the majestic Bugatti Type 41 Royale, considered the culmination of Bugatti engineering and power as a builder.
The exterior design is made from the colors that give life to Bugatti. The bodywork receives its aluminum panels after a tedious work of polishing by hand, together with this element, the carbon fiber does not detract, showing itself naturally with the blue color of its fibers and the gloss of its lacquered finish. The combination is not shown as the most ostentatious of all known, but it is precisely there where you find the elegance that made Bugatti great in its heyday.
Immersed in the interior, Bugatti claims to have resorted to the best leathers and craftsmen to make an unrepeatable cabin. For the first time, Bugatti uses two types of leather that, in combination with carbon fiber in a blue hue, and the sculpture of the mythical elephant created by the sculptor and brother of Ettore, Rembrandt Bugatti, transfer the driver and passenger to the year 1939 to delight at the controls of the Type 41 Royale.
Some of the details that make this Bugatti Veyron so special beyond its multiple historical reminiscences, we find in the use of “Cordovan” equine leather for the steering wheel and gearbox knob, as well as alloy wheels on Polished finish thanks to the use of a diamond-tipped router.
On a technical level, and as has been detailed in the previous 5 editions that make up this special series, no modifications of any kind have been introduced. The 8.0 engine, with 16 cylinders in W configuration and no less than four turbochargers, reaches a maximum power of 1,200 hp at 6,400 rpm. Traction is permanent on all four wheels, while the transmission is automatic and double clutch with seven relationships.
The maximum speed is 408.84 km / h, a record lower than the more than 430 km / h of the Guinness record due to its Targa condition, but which still makes it the fastest roadster in the world. Its acceleration to cover 100 km / h from standstill is a mere 2.6 seconds, and 1,500 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 revolutions is a true savagery.
The launch of the Bugatti Veyron Ettore Bugatti will take place on August 15th on the occasion of the Concours d’Elegance held in Pebble Beach. A very important appointment in the summer calendar where manufacturers and bodybuilders will present their latest creations. Together with the Concours d’Eleganza Villa d’Este held on the shores of Lake Como, Italy, the California event has become one of the benchmarks on the automotive scene due to the relevance of its presentations.
