The Geneva Motor Show 2020 jumped for obvious security reasons due to the coronavirus, but the news had now been announced and so, one by one, they were revealed via the web. Clearly, as usual, the Swiss event saw the presence of numerous high-performance sports cars to the delight of fans. Let’s discover them all together to understand how the world of the best performing cars is evolving.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport
In case someone thought, even for a moment, that the Bugatti Chiron is not sporty enough, here is the Chiron Pur Sport in Geneva, with a revised aerodynamic outfit thanks also to a large rear wing, a total mass dropped by 50 kg, and the shortened gear ratios. In fact, they are 15% shorter, and have been revised in terms of internal components to facilitate acceleration. It is no coincidence that the time to go from 60 km / h to 120 km / h drops by 2 seconds, while the maximum speed touches “only” for a Bugatti i 350 km / h. The W16 does not change under the skin, which remains 8 liters supercharged with 1,500 HP and 1,600 Nm. This set-up is reserved only for 60 units which will be sold at a starting price of 3 million euros, obviously excluding VAT.
McLaren 765 LT
McLaren responds with the 765 LT, which stands for long tail, that is long tail, and takes up a tradition of the House of Woking offering a decidedly intriguing evolution of the 720 S. Aerodynamic care is taken to the extreme with a 60mm higher wing and other carbon fiber components capable of increasing downforce by 25%. The weight dropped by a whopping 80 kg reaching only 1,229 kg, while the titanium exhaust with 4 voice outputs to the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 that borrows some solutions adopted by the Senna such as the modifications to the cylinder head to reach a power of 765 hp and 800 Nm of maximum torque. The result is an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h covered in 2.8 seconds and a sprint from 0 to 200 km / h burned in just 7.2 seconds. Also in this case the production is limited, but to 765 copies.
Porsche 911 Turbo S
Wider to accommodate wider track, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, built on the basis of the latest variant of the iconic German sports car, the 992, features a new rear wing that becomes larger as speed increases, and hides the flat six under the skin. from 3.8-liter twin-turbo that grows in power up to 650 hp and 800 Nm of maximum torque. This is also due to the new variable geometry turbines with increased impellers from 5 to 5.5 cm, and that of the compressor increased up to 6.1 cm. To manage all this power, the lucky driver can use the four-wheel drive capable of transferring up to 500 Nm to the front axle. The maximum speed is about 330 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is covered in 2.7 seconds, improving by 2 tenths, while the 200 km / h finish line from a standing start is cut in 8.9 seconds, 1 less than the previous model. To get it, you have to invest an amount equal to 224,527 euros, which become 238,435 euros for the cabrio variant.

An engine capable of pushing it from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and make them reach an electronically limited top speed 300 km / h.
Not everyone focuses on power, in fact there are those who bet everything on weight, obviously without giving up horses, such as the Bac Mono, a sort of road F3000 that weighs just 570 kg and unleashes a power of 326 hp thanks to a supercharged 2.3 of Ford origin. In 2.8 seconds it reaches 100 km / h and then pushes up to 272 km / h with an impressive speed. In fact, it carries less than 1.72 kg per horse. Constructed using 3D printing, it makes extensive use of graphene-enriched carbon fiber for the body panels.

In fact, the large wing disappears in favor of 2 fins and even the rims have specific protections, we are talking about the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute. Under the skin remains the very bad V8 5-liter twin-turbo that comes to well 1,625 hp. With this supercar the proposals pushed exclusively by the thermal engine in review end; in fact, the Swedish manufacturer also offers the hybrid Gemera, almost 5 meters long, with 3 electric motors and a 2-liter supercharged 3-cylinder for a total power of 1,725 hp and 3,500 Nm of maximum torque. The performance is thrilling: 400 km / h 1.9 seconds to shoot from 0 to 100 km / h. If desired, it can travel up to 50 km in electric mode and touch 300 km / h traveling with zero impact. It will be produced in 300 units, but will offer a convenience unknown to other hypercars.
Gumpert Nathalie First Edition
Nostalgics of the legendary Apollo will have to change their minds in front of the Gumpert Nathalie First Edition, a car with interesting performances, with a top speed of 300 km / h and a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h covered in 2.5 seconds that hides a unique technology of its kind: is the world’s first production car with a methanol fuel cell which produces hydrogen and converts it into electricity supplied by the 4 motors mounted on each wheel. Figures that would make it competitive compared to sports with well-known names, but which will have to be confirmed by the facts. It will be the first zero-impact sports car made in Sri Lanka and we can’t wait to see it at work.
Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne
The Carmen Boulogne is the electric novelty of the Spanish manufacturer Hispano Suiza. It is a very exclusive hypercar that will be produced starting from 2022 in only 5 units, which will be added to the 14 units of the Carmen. The podium of Supercar Search Engine.it
Now that the overview is complete we give you our very personal podium, which can be shared or not, but is given by some objective reasons, even if when it comes to cars of the genre, passion prevails over reason.
- Koenigsegg Gemera
- McLaren 765 LT
- Porsche 911 Turbo S
In the first place there is the Koenigsegg Gemera, because it interprets a transition phase, that from the thermal engine to the electric, with a decidedly original hybrid proposal that combines a certain amount of practicality in the search for unrivaled performance for almost all the cars in production. Behind her there is room for the McLaren 765 LT, a sports car that continues to challenge Ferrari with courage and strongly approaches the performance of the Senna. We close with a timeless icon, the Porsche 911 Turbo S; although the 911s are all upset, except for the GT3 and GT3 RS and other special variants intended for a very select few, the Turbo manages to maintain its status, and over time it has become even faster, but always usable in everyday life.
