You are impatient, right? Mercedes-AMG has just introduced the C 63 Coupé and you have liked it so much that you want to have it in your garage already – lucky there are some. For the impatient, Mercedes-AMG will launch a pre-series called Edition 1, which will be launched before the rest of the production of this high-flying sports coupe. It is offered with both engines – the same 4.0 V8 Biturbo in different powers – with a differentiated aesthetic. It does not present mechanical or dynamic novelties compared to the other C 63 Coupé.

A Mercedes-AMG C 63 Edition 1 that we would all like to have

Performance forged wheels have 19-inch diameter and high-performance tires.

He Mercedes-AMG C 63 Edition 1 presents a more sporty look. Combine the yellow, black and silver colors with great success, and that is not a simple mixture. There’s a catch: yellow vinyl is only available on the C 63 S – with a 510 hp V8 Biturbo engine – while the lower power version has dark gray details. It is clear that Mercedes has tried to differentiate both versions, and has succeeded. In any case, it is a simply spectacular car.

Special Model Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé Edition 1, designo Magno Selenite Gray with yellow film coating

Its matte glossy gray paint – called Magno Selenite Gray – fits perfectly, and the Edition 1 treats only enhance an already delicious cake. It is like coating a four-chocolate cake with chocolate syrup. He AMG aerodynamic pack it makes its exterior design more raw, adding a front splitter in a subtle way, as well as a small spoiler on the boot lid and some details in black, such as the housing of the rear-view mirrors.

He AMG Night Package is also standard on Edition 1, and this is due to a beautiful carbon fiber diffuser with a chrome exhaust. In addition to these details, it also has carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. Inside they carry Nappa-lined AMG Performance sports seats, with the same color scheme. Unfortunately, Mercedes has not released pictures of the interior of the car. The steering wheel is also more sporty, and mounts carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin.

This is the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé of the DTM

Mercedes kills two birds with one stone and also presents at the same event your competitor for the DTM. A competitor that is seen primarily – and only – with Audi and BMW on the circuits. The car is a slight evolution of last year’s Mercedes C-Class Coupé, to which they have added the front and rear of the new C-Class Coupé. Both the weight – they must weigh a minimum of 1,120 kg – and the aerodynamics of the DTM cars is highly regulated, as well as the propeller: all use a 4.0 V8 naturally aspirated with 483 hp of power.

There is little scope for each manufacturer to innovate in these cars – beyond the official specifications – but still, the DTM championship is interesting to watch, and many of the techniques developed in competition end up being transferred to road cars, especially in the field of automotive aerodynamics, where Mercedes is one of the leading companies. The renewed competitor of the DTM will enter the race next season, the current season is almost over.
