The new Peugeot 308 was a huge leap in quality for the French firm. Now, that step forward, that progression of Peugeot, is ratified by its new sports commitment. The Peugeot 308 GT, the sports version of the new Peugeot 308 and does so by betting so much on a variant gasoline, of 205 horses, as for an alternative diesel, of 180 horses.
But not only that. In addition to being available in both diesel and gasoline, the Peugeot 308 GT arrives both in compact and familiar format from the hand of an also vitaminized Peugeot 308 SW.
The keys to its exterior design

The Peugeot 308 GT is aesthetically characterized by looking a fairly discreet outer line. The changes are quite contained, finding us on its front with a new bumper lower, although it shows a design quite close to that of the normal versions, some very little marked side skirts and a rear bumper which seems like the most daring element by showing us a double exhaust outlet, quite well integrated, with large chrome inserts for the silencer.

In his cabin we find a new anthracite finish for the ceiling. Count with one Alcantara finish standard, with a Nappa leather upholstery optionally. The cabin is filled with contrast stitching in redfrom the door trims to the dashboard without losing sight of the gear lever or floor mats.
There is also a specific steering wheel perforated leather finish. It still maintains its compact dimensions and the initials GT is added at the bottom. New ones also reinforce this sports set aluminum pedals and some stainless steel door sills.
The finishing touch is the change in instrumentation and multimedia screen. The Peugeot 308 GT has a new instrumentation with red lighting in which we also find information on turbo pressure, power and torque used and longitudinal and transverse acceleration. The multimedia screen also gets a new red theme.
Its mechanics: 180 hp diesel or 205 hp gasoline?
The mechanical set of the new Peugeot 308 GT remains in the hands of a gasoline alternative and a diesel variant. This duality of options puts us behind the path of the Volkswagen Golf GTD Y GTI, of the SEAT León and its diesel and gasoline FR variants or the updated Ford Focus ST and its new diesel variant.
The petrol version remains in the hands of 1.6 THP 4-cylinder, direct injection and Twin-Scroll turbocharger, with a power of 205 horses and a maximum torque of 285 Nm available between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. It is associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, registers a 0 to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds and its approved average consumption is 5.6 l / 100 km, counting on emissions of CO2 130 g / km. Its power-to-weight ratio is 5.85 kg / Cv.
The diesel alternative is developed from a 2.0 BlueHDI that develops a power of 180 horses at 3,750 rpm and a torque of 400 Nm at 2,000 rpm. Unlike the gasoline mechanics, this variant is only associated with an automatic gearbox EAT6 developed in collaboration with Aisin AW. Without data from 0 to 100 km / h for now, the data of its recovery from 80 to 120 km / h, of 5.5 seconds, is offered from Peugeot. Its average consumption is 4 l / 100 km, which means emissions of CO2 of only 103 g / km. These values of CO2 allow the diesel variant to refrain from registration tax.
The diesel mechanics have been lightened by 7 kg, reducing the crankcase walls and eliminating expendable auxiliary elements. A final weight / power ratio of 7.3 kg / Cv is achieved in this version.

The Peugeot 308 GT receives a specific set-up for your suspensions. The increase in hardness of the front and rear axles ranges from 10% to 20% depending on the version. The front discs have a diameter of 330 mm and a thickness of 30 mm while on the rear axle the discs are 268 mm, 290 mm in the case of the station wagon.
Through the Driver Sport pack, which is standard in this version, you can also configure a harder power steering, also with a more sensitive throttle touch, faster gear changes in the case of the automatic version and a more marked sound in your cabin, these elements being disconnectable through a button on the central bridge.
