If we asked Horacio Pagani what his vision of the best supercar of the moment would be, the answer would be none other than the new Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta. The Zonda has long since ceased to be officially manufactured to be replaced by the Pagani Huayra, however Pagani has continued to manufacture its first supercar for the brand’s most special and wealthy customers in the form of One-Off. Today that unique program adds the umpteenth iteration of the Zonda as a whim of Horacio Pagani himself and in a limited edition of only 3 units.

The Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta is Horacio Pagani’s dream come true, a supercar that has been made according to the tastes of the founder of the brand and showing off the first Barchetta or Speedster body seen in Pagani. This Zonda is possibly the most special of the Zonda made with endless unique details and elements acquired from other models of the Zonda and Huayra family. It is a unique car for its design and conception, however there will be 3 units that will be manufactured.

How can you imagine that this Zonda bears the initials HP in its name has no other explanation than to honor the specification carried out by Horacio Pagani. But this stamp could hide even more secrets and is that in addition to its characteristic design brushstrokes, the set-up and the technical set would also be very different from the rest of the Zonda manufactured. Horacio Pagani wanted to make a truly unique car taking elements seen throughout his career as a manufacturer.

In its exterior design, it is worth highlighting the adoption of a cut windshield, a raised engine air intake, 20 and 21-inch wheels inspired by the new Pagani Huayra Roadster, blue carbon fiber bodywork, aerodynamic accessories taken from the Zonda Cinque and Fantasma Evo or semi-faired rear wheel arches like the Zonda ZoZo. Another interesting detail, which remains unconfirmed, is what mechanics it hides under its rear hood. As usual in Pagani we know that it is a V12 of origin Mercedes-AMG, however the details revealed so far have not specified displacement or power, leaving us only with the 36 valve configuration that a priori makes us think of the 6.0 V12 Twin-Turbo engine of the Huayra instead of the naturally aspirated V12 (M120) used by all the Zonda to date as these employ 48 valve configuration.

Of the Zonda HP Barchetta only 3 units will be manufactured, having a price of 1.5 million dollars each and serving as true point and end to the Zonda saga as suggested by the manufacturer at his presentation at Pebble Beach. After a multitude of special editions and One-Off models manufactured after the end of series production of the Zonda, the HP Barchetta seems to us an excellent point and end to the saga, although we sincerely doubt that given the profitability of this custom manufacturing program be truly the ultimate Pagani Zonda.
