Debut for Lucio Gioffrè on the Lamborghini Huracan and for Pietro Giordano on the Mercedes C63
First “solo” race for the Supercars Series at the Autodromo dell’Umbria, with a qualitatively high-level starter park. Seven brands represented on the starting grid with some top-level racing cars such as Lamborghini Huracan that the CLG Bloise row for the Cosentino Lucio Cosimo Gioffrè, among the favorites to win the title. Alongside Gioffrè, the CLG Bloise ranks the faithful and multiple winner Renault Megane Trophy entrusted to the unfailing Apulian duo composed of Benny Strignano and Antonio Angrisano. Competition, however, will be extremely fierce, with the Chevrolet Corvette Z-06 GT3 of Roberto and Luigia Martina Del Castello. The Bmw Z4 from San Marino was then added to the group Stefano Valli which aims to revive the glories of past years. The Ferrari brand is not missing with the 458 GT3 of Alberto Lippi deployed from RAM. Three Porsches in the race all lined up by the inevitable Bellspeed. The Perugia team fielded a 997 Gt3 Cup for Massimo Regni and the classic Cayman Cup for Patrick Beauty, son of the popular trainer Fausto and engaged this weekend also in the Free Formula, and for the Capitoline veterans Bonifacio and Giovanni Gaetani, in art “Boga” and “Gioga”. After a couple of seasons – they were missing from the 2016 Winter Super Cup racing with Abarths – the Gaetanis are therefore back in the Italia Corse “universe”. The Lotus Exige of Piero Randazzo, among the first to believe in the high potential of the new championship, and the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 that the Maltese One Racing Team fields for the Sicilian Ignazio Cannavò, a name of great importance in the CIVM and TIVM in recent years. Cannavò joined the race at the last minute but promises a battle with a racing car that has always proved extremely competitive. And to complete the deployment, also a splendid one Mercedes C63 V8 driven by the Campania region Pietro Giordano. Qualifying tests on Saturday at 11.35 on the 25 minute length, races on Sunday at 10.15 and at 16.45 on the 25 minute length.
