Mercedes has faced in recent months an important period of change in which the compact product range has played a key role. Of course this new generation of compact models, with the Mercedes A-Class, the Mercedes CLA and the mercedes GLA has had its replica from the hand of AMG leaving us with a combination that years ago would have been impossible to imagine.
The Mercedes A 45 AMG, the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG and the last to arrive, the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG, have been in charge of reaffirming this new stage at the blow of exorbitant figures for a segment of compact cars apparently willing to break the 400 horsepower barrier in its next generation.
Today we pay them a, from my perspective, a well-deserved tribute. Deserved for being precisely the best representatives of this new stage. Deserved because although they do not have a huge atmospheric V8 under their hood, they are in charge of carrying the supercharged engine with the highest specific power per liter of displacement of all those on the market.
Saloon, compact or SUV, AMG has reached, in style, a segment where it was not expected and where Audi was already fighting with the Audi RS3, where BMW I had him BMW 1 M Coupe… was it a good move? For now the new A-Class and CLA are dispatched with a good level of popularity through our streets, it is still too early to see if the alternatives AMG they are also well received.

In the case of CLA 45 AMG we find the same situation. BMW has the BMW M235i, by 49,900 euros with 326 horsepower delivered to the rear axle, while Audi has the Audi S3 sedan with a power of 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive priced at 45,500 euros, in both cases, one notch below in price and power.
With the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG we have as rival the Audi Q3 RS, with 310 horses delivered to the 4 wheels and a starting price of 62,835 euros and a Porsche macan s that with 340 horses starts from 68,175 euros.
